Meet Laura
Hey there! I’m so glad you are here. I am an experienced special education teacher looking to share my love of teaching and learning with students in my community.
In June 2023, my family set out on adventure moving from New York to Georgia. We landed in Atlanta in Virginia Highland and could not be more thrilled to call this special place our home. Shortly after our move, we welcomed our third child, making our adventure down south extra special as we completed our family.
I’ve been blessed to meet friends and neighbors here in Atlanta who have expressed a need for specialized learning support outside of the school setting. From there, my vision for Bloom Bright Consulting was born.
I am well versed in the benefits of structured literacy programs, and multisensory education in providing students with different learning needs the ability to not only make progress academically, but to feel valued, intelligent, and to learn to love the unique style in which they learn.
I am trained multisensory literacy programs such as Lively Letters and Orton Gillingham and have many years of experience teaching students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, autism, dyscalculia, anxiety disorders, and oppositional defiance disorder. In addition to my background in literacy, I also have extensive experience in teaching multisensory/structured math to support struggling learners.
I am also trained in Teacher Child Interaction Therapy, an extension of Parent Child Interaction Therapy, which is a positive behavior shaping method to support students with challenging behaviors in different learning settings.
In short, I believe that all children regardless of challenges are brilliant, special, and creative. I am so excited to meet your child and support them in blooming into the best version of themselves.
